PSP - Corpse Party: Book of Shadows Empty
PostSubject: PSP - Corpse Party: Book of Shadows   PSP - Corpse Party: Book of Shadows EmptyFri Feb 08, 2013 9:55 pm

Just bought the game last night and have been playing it since. This is the sequel to the PSP game: Corpse Party. (Kinda duh)

This one takes a different direction gameplay-wise. Unlike the first, which was top down adventure, this one is Visual Novel styled. Not don't think just because it's a VN that you'll be sitting there doing nothing but reading (You won't need to read much if you know Japanese lol), it plays similarly to the Ds game 9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors or the 3DS/Vita game Zero Escape: Virtues Last Reward. There's the parts where you will be sitting there soaking in the story and in between those, you'll be venturing around in a point-'n-click-esque style to find items you'll need to overcome obstacles.

This game isn't just a sequel though, it's more of a Sequel, Prequel, and Retelling all in one. Sounds weird, but it makes sense if you've played through the first one and gotten the true end. All the gruesome stuff that I grew to love in the first one returns in full force in this one, so expect some brutal deaths accompanied by spine chilling voice work. And to enhance the audio, they incorporated a new Bin-aural 3D Sound thingy, so it works like surround sound without needing anything special for it.

There's choices you make in this game, and they matter. Make the wrong one and you can find your life fading pretty fast. I'll leave you all with a screenshot of the main antagonist. Oh, and this game has ghosts... Kinda a big part of it.
